running TP750 with lid closed

I have a TP750Cs with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I'd like to
be able to close the lid when I use all these external gadgets, but I can't
figure out how to prevent the SUSPEND from kicking in. The manual implies
this is impossible, but I can't seem to get it to work.
