        Thanks for responding Chuck, but that can't be it--my locking
clip is quite securely attached to the right edge of the keyboard just
as it should be.

        This "rattling sound" is coming from somewhere in the back-right of
the computer, but not in the PCMCIA slots (I checked) and not in the normal
swap-out area where the battery, drive, and floppy drive are encased.

        That's why it concerns me.
