Well, perhaps IBM will learn about europe one day . My 720C has been in
and out of repair 3 times in the year and 3 months since I got it, with
min 1 week, and once 3 weeks wait, as they don't stock parts here and
don't really care. I've junked it, too unreliable for real use - it
overheats and they are incapable of locating the intermittent fault.
So when it puts up a diagnostic scree it goes back , then they say we cannot
find anything etc. The screen has also been replaced once for lack of brightness,
and is now starting to flicker so will probably be replaced again, if I bother.
I am not going to buy another IBM machine, not because the people are nasty,
but because their service structure in europe is not able to deal with the
reality of people who pay 6K$ for a notebook needing 2 or 3 day service.
