hi.

i'm planning on getting either a 360, 750, or 755 series, active
matrix, dx2 or dx4 in the near future so it seemed like a good source
of information to join the list. my primary interest is in running
a portable unix system (freebsd, linux, or solaris) although i'm
planning on having some multimedia use as a portable children's
entertainment system for auto/train/airplane trips... of course, it
seems like the new 755cd is the perfect system but the price tag is a
little steep to justify to a mac-centric family.

i'm leaning toward either the 360 or 750 series due to cost
considerations but haven't decided if the 750's 33mhz (is that
right?) and bigger screen are a better configuration than the newer
360's 25/50mhz dx2 and smaller screen. but i've looked at a lot of
systems and haven't found any that i like as well as the thinkpads.
except for the powerbooks of course but they don't run unix. yet.

anyway, to whoever compiled/contributed-to the FAQ, thanks!
