while it may be true that you can't change the volume,
I wouldn't count on what anyone in IBM's level 1
(phone answerer) tech support has to say about much
of anything. I've gotten several wrong answers from them,
only to later discuss issues and resolve problems with
level 2 support (who call you when they get a chance).
