I hope this helps.
The following was sent to the LIST 5.30.95
Reported in "INFO World " 5.29.95 Page 1.
INTEL ... this week will announce its new 90-MHz Pentium processor for
potables. ... Intel will dump plans to introduce a 100 MHz Pentium ... and
jump right to 120 MHz mobile Pentium processor late in the third quarter.
Intel is working ... to bring out a PCI chip set... Though pricing is not yet
available for the 120 MHz chip, it may be priced at a premium over the
current desktop version. ...
The Triton chip set for potables with PCI support is expected to appear at
the same time ... Intel Pentium Processor Advantage ...
* Voltage Reduction Technology, [VRT] allows the chip to operate at 2.9
volts while maintaining compatibility with 3.3 volt components.
* The special, space saving "tape carrier" chip package, which allows
for better heat dispensation than desktop processors;
* On-chip power down, which powers the cache and floating-point unit
when not in use.

Functional parity with the desktops!!? I wonder what percentage of
laptop & notebook motherboards and chip sets INTEL produces versus
the desktops to warrant such needed notoriety?
