The reason I prefer a newsgroup over a mailing list is that newsreaders
have more features to let me sort through and weed out the noise before
I read through the stuff. Even if the noise level on a newsgroup is
higher than on a mailing list, I usually have an easier time picking
out the signal with a newsreader.
