Something may have changed relatively recently, but when I installed
a fresh Linux system (kernel 1.2.8), I had to specifically hunt down
the PCMCIA module and recompile the kernel to include module support.
It was still very easy to do however, and I have a 3Com PCMCIA ethernet
card. I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult for someone to add that
PCMCIA support in their distribution though.
