For those of you using Linux:

XFree86 3.1.2 has a new SVGA X server that understands the WD90C24
chipset. If you have been experiencing trouble getting X to work
properly with 3.1.1, you might want to upgrade.

I installed the new server last night and it works well. It now
supports a wider range of dot clocks, so I am finally able to get
800x600 working at a reasonable refresh rate. As an added bonus,
there's a new program, xvidtune, to adjust the video parameters for
your monitor.

In addition to this, the new server supposedly fixes bugs that I've
heard about but haven't seen: trashed video after exiting X, and good
support for dual-scan models.
