Hello,
It is possible to run DOS and OS/2 without the disk software. Under
OS/2 the bootable partition must be within the first 508 meg or so.
Since the DOS cannot access HPFS partitions or above about 520meg I
partitioned my drive as roughly 350 Meg Dos, then 150 Meg HPFS OS/2
System, and the rest as OS/2 HPFS data. The "DOS Box" under OS/2 can
access the entire drive. DOS (which I seldom run) can access the first
350.

Don't forget that if you're using DOS, Windows 3.11, or OS/2 that you'll
need to use a software package like EZ Drive or Disk Manager on drives that
are larger than 528MB (1024 cylinders). Otherwise, FDISK will give you
a shocking disk drive capacity measure ("14MB" on a 540MB drive, etc.),
and won't allow you to partition the drive properly. Most new 2.5" drives
