I've only used it once, but yes it only took three days, plus one
more to get the shipping carton from IBM. Thinkpads cost a little
more but this kind of service makes it more than worth it.
You can pull the battery and disks when sending it in for this kind
of problem (that doesn't involve them) which reduces the weight and
thus the chance of any shock-induced damage, not to mention making
sure they don't get lost.
