Booting Linux

I recently installed Linux on a TP755CX with 800x600 svga video. I used
LOADLIN in DOS in order to use the 800x600 video mode (after typing
PS2 MODE3X ON). I am wondering if there is a way to boot directly into
Linux and still be able to use the 800x600 video?
