can anyone suggest a particular flavor of boot/root disks to use to install
slackware on my 755cd? i've tried bare, abare & aaztcd boot disks from
www.nectec.or.th & i get a kernel panic as soon as i pop in the root disk.
this is so basic i'm almost embarrassed to post it, but i've read the entire
contents of the sites people forwarded to me
(http://peipa.essex.ac.uk/tp-linux/tp-linx ux.html and
http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/) and i can't get past inse
rting the root disk. i used the 'floppy=thinkpad' advice, but the boot disks
require it in the form of either 'ramdisk floppy=thinkpad,' 'drive2
floppy=thinkpad,' (which doesn't apply) or 'mount floppy=thinkpad.' i'm told i
should be using ramdisk, but i tried the others just to see. same thing every
time: 'Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:1c'
anyone?
