How about the location of the monitor? Sometimes another device such as
another ext monitor will cause distortions like wavy lines.

| We're having a problem with *one* of our 755C's here. When connected
| to an external monitor, thin vertical lines don't appear as straight
| lines but as slightly wavy lines. They seem to be perfectly straight
| on the LCD screen, and the problem happens with two different external
| monitors which work fine on other machines. My 755C does not have the
| problem, yet both are using the same drivers and the same settings, etc.
