What I've done on my 701C is to keep the audio at 7; change the
MultiPort II parallel to 7; and change the diskette/parallel to 5.
This allows audio applications to coexist with parallel transfers
without requiring the MultiPort II to be attached.

Generally speaking, just making sure that each device has its own IRQ
should generally work. In my case, I have a PCMCIA CDROM at 10, a PCMCIA
NIC at 11, and a PCMCIA modem at 4 (COM1) because I've disabled the
internal modem. The PostScript file 701_TIPS.PS [or its text version,
701_TIPS.TXT] in the "mobiles" section of the IBM PC FTP site has a
section on IRQ usage which you may find helpful.
