Thinkpad battery/charge question

Hi,

I purchased a new Thinkpad 365X a few days ago and have been very happy
with it except for one detail: the Fuel Gauge and Win 95 Power
accessories both report that there is no battery strength left although
the battery status LED indicates that there is, and I do get the normal
operating time from the battery.

What could be the problem causing the erroneous battery strength
reports? The system has a BIOS that supports APM 1.2, and the battery
is the NIMH that shipped with the computer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
