I'm using a Megahertz XJEM3288 on my 560. Highlights:
- 28.8K modem / 14.4K fax
- 10BaseT and coax Ethernet with appropriate cables, only one of these
included.
- Flash ROM
- Modem has cellular support, cables required
(check out www.mhz.com for more info)
The included Win95 installation was buggy. The latest version from their
site worked (on 2nd attempt..). Other than that, it's a great product.
Smooth modem and network connections with no voodoo or tweaking.
One issue you should be aware of: there are two similar versions,
XJEM3288 and CCEM3288. The former has the "X-Jack" (built-in pop-up
phone socket, see the MHz site for a photo). While it's very convenient
and saves carrying an extra cable, the plug may be blocked by a 2nd
PCMCIA card. So if you plan on using the modem and another card (e.g.,
SCSI) simultaneously, get the CC version.
