Hi everybody.

I have got my 701C few weeks ago. It's a used one, and I am still
struggling to check the machine. The most strange thining is that I never
suceeded suspend/resume. I just got repaired my machine using IBM
EzServe. I think it's nice. They replaced several parts to fix small
hardware problems. And, it was done very quickly.

However, they think the suspend problem is caused from software, while I
guess it is a hardware problem. I have the most recent BIOS, so don't
recommed me to upgrade BIOS. I have 3 OS's. (I'm going to remove the
preinstalled Window 95).

Windows 95: Crashes after suspend/resume. Sometimes, it runs for several
minutes. But, eventualy it dies by a system integrity problem. An IBM
technical assistant said me to enable "enforce APM 1.0" in the device
manager. I did that, but nothing is changed.

Windows NT 4.0: Crashes after suspend/resume. It just shows a kernel
panic.

The hibernation is working well for both of Win95 & NT 4.0.

Linux: I heard the suspend works well even in Linux. So, I tried it. The
result is quite strange. I won't die. I mean Linux refuses to be
suspended. When I press Fn+F4, the screen blinks once and the system
keeps running. It refuses also the hibernation. I can see the clock icon
(meaning a wait) by pressing Fn+F12, but it resumes to Linux immediatly.
I tried it after removing all PCMCIA cards & the card managent program,
but it didn't solve the problme.

I think it should be a hardware problem, but I want to hear from other
701C users before sending it again to EzServe. Any help appreciated.

Thanks
