My Hardware Maintenance Manual Vol. 2: Thinkpad Computers (Oct 94)
says an 860x error is a pointing device error when the TrackPoint II
is disabled. It says first check the external mouse, then the ext.
keyboard and finally try replacing the system board.
It looks like you need a mouse too, or maybe one of those adapter
cables that plugs both the keyboard and mouse into the same socket?
