Hi,
Some good news: Having long struggled with a cheapo NE2000 PCMCIA
Ethernet card clone 'Edimax' (worked with my 701 in Windows 95 after massive
fiddling; no problems with Linux; causes crashes with my new Texas
replacement for the 701 - that's another story)...
...I bought a 3Com Etherlink III card by way of a replacement. To my mind,
not very expensive, I was surprised when it was delivered as card, transceiver
and cable - no drivers. So I plugged it into my laptop with Windows 95, it
recognised it, automatically installed the driver _and_ _it_ _works_! I'll
be throwing Linux at it shortly, but I'm confident it'll work having seen some
of the messages other members of the list have sent.
So now I know what I'll consider first for an Ethernet card. Anyone in
Switzerland not running Windows 95 that wants an NE2000 card?
cheers,
Andrew.
