  16-bit = 2^16 or 65536. 65536/1024=64K.

  16-bit color = 64K colors.

  They are just different ways of saying the same thing.

  Some high color 16-bit modes really only use 5 bits per color for a
total of 32K colors. The ones that use all 16 bits usually use the extra
bit for green since out eyes are more sensitive to variations of green.

  I run my TP560-120 at 800x600,16-bit.
