I'm running Red Hat 5.0, with a customized kernel (2.0.33) on a 770.
However, we are running Win95 on the other partition and not NT. The
reason for the custom kernel was to turn on APM.

With Red Hat 5.0, you can use the boot floppy to boot your linux
partition, even if you cannot install lilo. I have no idea if NT and
lilo are compatible.

As for X, we're running Xi Graphics' Accelerated X Laptop (LX), but that
is far from free ($200). At the time, XFree86 didn't yet support the
770, but I think that has changed. I'm running AccelX at
1024x768x16-bit, and it is fast.
