Wow...6 1/2 pounds with the CD drive in? That's almost 1 full pound
heavier than the Versa 5000 series with its CD drive in, and a *almost* 2
1/2 pounds heavier than the 560 (which is a mere 4.1 lbs)!

Looks to me like IBM remembered the part about "thin", but forgot the
"light". We know it can be done (adding in modularity like an insertable
CD-Drive) in less weight in these same dimensions (12" x 9.5" x 1.5"
thick), because NEC does in in the Versa 5000 series in 5.6 lbs. (with
CD-Drive in. A touch over 5 lbs. with an empty bay). So why does IBM's
stab at this weigh so much?

Also--I'm curious: Do TFT displays weigh a significant amount? Enough to
make a significant difference between, say, a 12.1" screen and a 13.3"
screen? Or 14.1" screen? About how much would that difference be? Is it
mostly the glass (or whatever it is)?
