Probably. That would mean a new HD--not an easy task, especially when
I've got to figure out a way to load DOS PC-card drivers & SCSI drivers to
access an external CD ROM, etc. Hooboy, what a pain... (Yes, the drive
was running--I let Norton work on it for a day, then into the night, and
this morning it was making the most *awful* sound--like the platter was
spinning off-balance. That's when I knew there was no more hope for that HD.)
Case is otherwise undamaged except for a small piece that broke off a year
ago (and is insignficant--decorative part that supposed to look like a hinge).
As I suggested to the list, I'll probably go through this exercise when I
upgrade the 600's HD. I had intended to hold off on a 600 purchase until
they made a model that came with the expected new 6.4 GB HD's stock (and
then waited for it to come out of the stratosphere of price). So now when
I upgrade the drive, the 3 GB drive it comes with can find a new home in my
560--assuming I can fix the video cable or whatever it is.
