Panasonic KXL-D740 on Linux?

Does anyone know if my portable CD-ROM (KXL-D740) will work on Linux? The
Panasonic web site has only DOS/Windows drivers, but I heard that Linux has
a generic SCSI CD driver. Will the CD-ROM player work with Linux?
