I've got a minor problem. I tried to connect a Seagate 800MB tape
backup to the parallel port connector. The drive is recognized, but I
cannot get a good compatibility test run. I set the port to
bidirectional, EPP and ECP (non-DMA and DMA mode).

At first I thought a new tape I bought was faulty, but when I connected
the system to my desktop (which does not need a backup solution) it
worked fine after a power down/up cycle.

The only difference is that I do not have my Zip Drive configured on the
other system (it also connects through the parallel port).

Any ideas? I know that the parallel port is not broken as the ZIP drive
works as well as the use of a printer.

James
