Hi,

my name is Alexander Krumeich. I have not yet bought a ThinkPad but I am
interested in the new 600 series, esp. in the 210 model (233 Pentium, 13"
HPA, 3.2 GB, 32 MB).

The decision to buy depends on the compatibility with Linux. A couple of
questions have been bothering me:

(1) What about the internal modem? Is it supported yet?

(2) Has the support for the TI PCMCIA chipset improved?
(Last thing I know is that the support was still experimental)

(3) How does Linux handle the center button for the TrackPoint?
Can I use it like a third (center) button on a conventional mouse?

(4) Does Accelerated X (LX version) work properly with the machine?

(5) Is there a driver for the sound chip in that machine?

Thanks,

        Alexander Krumeich
