Funny diatribe!
My little sticker question seems to have arisen some marketting
passions. I personally like the feel and look of the rubberized
palmrest and the stickers certainly don't improve either points
here. To me, it's more like the annoying "inspected" sticker on
cameras than the well crafted logo of a Rolls Royce. "Microsoft
Win95" somewhat doesn't look as prestigious or elegant.
Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions on how to remove the
stickers. I ended up using Isopropyl Alcool, Goo Gone and
the Ethyl Alcool, orange juice stirred combo. Here's my receipe:
Spread Goo Gone (availble from drug stores) conservatively
over the area for about 30 sec using a q-tip.
Wipe with kleenex.
Repeat once more if needed.
Wash with water with very little soft soap (I used palmolive).
Wipe with wet kleenex, then dry ones.
Finish up with the Isopropyl alcool (91% but lesser should be ok).
The alcool remove what's left of glue and brings back the
uniformity of the flat black surface.
Wash again till you can't smell you TP.
In my case, the glue was really stuck there so I had to resort
to Goo Gone (great product). Try using the alcool alone first.
You may be able to remove it that way.
Stickily yours...
