Thats correct concerning my own observations.

Wouldn't say that. Problem on the HP's is allways paperhandling. The paper
drives such a wild way through the printer, it's likley to jam sometimes. I
find that on DeskJet 520 I used some time ago, also on my laser (LaserJet
Series II) and the lasers we use in university (LaserJet 5M, 4M). The stylus
is more reliable here cause it transports the paper in a straigth way
through. I also find that on my Canon which uses the same technique here.

Concerning paperhandling I'd not use the HP for really lage volumes. Don't
know if it's really better on the 8xx mentioned here, but I'd found really
troubel with jams, especially on loading high volumes or low volumes of paper
in the tray. (That's to say on start up and at the end of a larger job.)

Also for black/white I'd say if one prints no graphics or only on Win than
the HP is probably right. But it's rather dependend on Win. If one uses other
platforms, the HP's perform pritty lousy in quality (lack of documentation by
HP).

That I'd say too. My LaserJet II (really old machine) is much better then all
tested inkjets for b/w printing. But it's not "portable" (25 kg ;-)
