Personally, I think the keyboard on the 600 is better than the 770.
They're both very, very good (much better than the 760 series), but they
have a bit different feel. You'd be wise to try if you can.

Comparing a Pentium 770 with a Pentium II 600, the 600 tends to be a bit
hotter, but that could be a Pentium vs. Pentium II thing. Still, I don't
find the 600 terribly hot. It is certainly much, much cooler than a
760E.

The 770 has much better sound quality, with a lot more bass and a lot
more volume before distortion sets in. There is no comparison.

I believe both the 600 and 770 have essentially the same Mwave/ACP
modem. The are both 56k x2 (with a V.90 upgrade coming some time). On
both the 600 and 770, the built-in modem is not usable. I've heard that
IBM does not release Mwave/ACP specs/drivers to the Linux community. I
end up using a PC card modem with Linux. It's a shame.
