It's suggested I describe my Thinkpad as a kick-off, so:
Thinkpad 360C purchased Jan 1995.
"Tin can" replaced to correct manufacturing flaw - now 486DX 25/50,
instead of original 486SL 33.
Memory upgraded from 8MB to 20MB (what do you do with a 4MB module?)
Hard disk replaced - was 340MB, now 1.2GB (IBM Servicepoint told me
"that' drive's not supposed to be in a 360C).
Hard disk is partitioned - running Win 3.1, Win95A, OS/2 Warp 3.
