I hate to say this, but why don't you just try this our yourself and see??
With windows 95 etc it take about 10 seconds to reset the resolution and see
on the spot. Granted Linux and others might not be able to do this, but
unless I'm missing something major, it should really not be a big deal!

To answer your question, it looks like a shrunk up screen, with about 1 inch
black borders around all 4 edges. All the text, icons are the same physical
size.
