I'm having a major problem running anything on my TP770's parallel port. I
tried installing 2 different Hewlett Packard printers with no luck.
Upon turning on the system, even before it gets into Win98, the printer
starts cycling and just prints out a few garbage characters on each sheet of
paper.
When I install the printers, Win98 tells me the printers are out of paper
(even though they're not) and keeps printing out garbage characters. I
don't think it's Win98 that is the problem because like I mentioned
earlier...the pc starts cycling the printer and makes it go nuts right from
boot up...before I get into Win98 and even before any printer drivers are
installed.
I've also tried installing a parallel Syquest Sparq 1.0 G drive with no
luck. I've even tried disabling the infrared functions with no luck.
I'm hoping that this is a simple setup bug somewhere and not a hardware
problem...but I doubt it. Any help appreciated.
