Hi David,

Last week I spent too much time trying to get Beta 2 (build 1877) installed
and running on my 770. It did load and recognized everything, but it was
having some difficulties with the PCI/IDE controller (resource conflicts).
The hard drive would also grind about every second or so which could be
related to the controller problem. During this grind, which sounded like
the heads were bouncing off of the drive housing, the system would just
wait. This made the whole thing so slow and annoying that I just gave up.
Beta 1 didn't do this.

As always, your mileage may vary.

Just obtained the MSDN version of NT 5.0 Beta 2. It seems to install well
on my generic Dell P100 desktop.

Has any brave soul tried this yet on any ThinkPad?

I have a TP 600 PII/233. Has anyone tried this model? It has ACPI support
and this should be recognized by the installer.

David
