Seeing as there have been no responses, I'll relay what I know.
I asked a similar question a couple weeks ago. I was looking to get an
Ethernet card and and modem for my 380D. The advice I received was to
stray away from the all-in-one cards if I intended to use it much
under Linux.
As it turns out, I need Ethernet mostly under Linux and the modem when
I boot into Win95 once in a while.
So, I picked up 3Com 3C589D to handle the Ethernet (since it will do
either 10base-T or 10base-2, which was one of my requirements). I'm
still undecided on the modem. But based on feedback I've seen so far,
I'm inclined to go with a USR/3Com. I still haven't decided.
The general opinion I got was that the combo cards worked quite well
under Win95. I'm assuming you're using Win95 since you didn't say
otherwise.
OS/2 support for such cards seemed to be similarly lacking, but that's
just the impression I got.
Good luck. Let us what your experience is.
