A shout out for help to all ye Thinkpad Gurus/Wizards:

Switched a 760ED-U9A (XGA resolution) to NTWS 4.0/SP-3 from W95 due to instability. Some questions/problems are:

1. NT video driver doesn't work as smoothly as the W95 driver. Scrolling downward in, e.g., Netscape Navigator 3.x or Photoshop 5 with an image is nice and smooth. Unfortunately, scrolling back upwards results in wavy flicker that did not exist under W95 and is annoying to say the least.

The driver is from IBM's website and I tried looking for an alternate/updated driver from Trident but it only referred me back to IBM. Has anyone else experience the same problem with their NT & XGA machine and found a solution? FWIW, it has 80MB of RAM & 2MB of VRAM.

2. Installed Thinkpad Features Utility but there's no Suspend on the Start Menu or Power Management Icon in the Task Tray.

BTW, with all due respect, neither of the above is a problem with my work-provided Toshiba :-) Suspend/Resume works like a champ and is soooo much faster than with W95. Of course, I haven't set it up with the docking station yet, so that may change.

3. Hibernation is incompatiable with PC Card (3Com ethernet/modem) in TP Configuration. Attempt to enable hibernation results in error message "Cannot create the hibernation file when PC card for communication is attached." The drive in question is formatted with FAT16.

That's it for the TP-specific problems. Insofar as NT is concerned...

4. Snap-to-default feature of the mouse is nice. What about simulating a double click by pressing both buttons at the same time, a feature available under W95 with the Mouseware driver that came with the three-buttoned Logitech Mouseman? Speaking of which, the ability to use the middle button of the said Mouseman would be nice too but apparently that isn't supported natively and Mouseware isn't compatiable with NT (or at least mine--v.75--isn't) either.

5. Suggestions for video capture software to replace the now nuked Asymetrix Compel? What about editing SW?

Please forgive the long message and thank you in advance for any help.
