this might not answer your question, but..
a good friend in singapore uses a nokia GSM cell phone and a nokia
pcmcia modem on his thinkpad 765D, all OVER the world, with great
success.. i have gotten e-mails sent from airports all over.. :-)
if you want, i'll get the model #'s, etc.
