You have to turn off the serial port (com1) for the Ir port (com1) to
work, which you probably did..
be sure the other devices are working..
is there an h/p laserjet 5P or 6P around that you can test the Ir on..
if it is inplemented, you should see the little Ir icon in the sys tray,
near the clock.. :-)
