This is the KXL-D740 model. I bought it about a year and a
half ago. Blurb on its features are listed on this page:

http://www.mcglen.com/product/CD_ROM_Drives/pnd740rf.htm

In a nutshell:

- 4x, external, slim
- AC or battery powered (AC adapter is *tiny*)
- PCMCIA SCSI-2 adapter, cable w/ standard SCSI-2 connector
- SCSI-2 in and out ports in back of drive for daisychaining
- volume control, headphone jack, etc. for playing audio CDs
- I'll have to check the warranty, I thought it was 1 year but
the above site lists it as 2 years. All box, manuals,
disks, and probably original sales receipt included.

The SCSI adapter is based on the QLogic chipset, which works
with Linux. But there's a bug in the driver (apparent only
with this card) which requires a one-character fix to the
source on some computers. That essentially means I can't use
this CD-ROM drive to install Linux (unless I want to create my
own install disks). Since I can access all my SCSI stuff from
my desktop machine, and I can do a network install for Linux,
I have no more use for this drive.

CDW lists a patch as being needed for this drive to work with
a TP560 or 760:

Buyer pays shipping, best offer over $50 (current bid for the
same model used drive on ebay is $51, and www.shopper.com
lists the lowest price new as $100).

Oh. Yes, it works. :-)
