Darren..
1. connect the floppy, with a diskette in it..
2. boot into win9x,
3. start windows file manager,
4. select "C:" drive and thus deselect "A:" drive..
this might be your problem.. that windows is looking for the last device it had
accessed because you read a floppy, quit out of file manager and then, later
shut down and removed the floppy drive..
