I took the plunge and ordered a TP560E, so my TP701 is for sale.

Specs:

- 701c, 486DX4/75 processor, butterfly keyboard
- 640x480 Active matrix (15bit on TFT, 24bit on monitor)
Display is perfect, without any dead or stuck pixels
- 720 MB hard drive
- 24 MB RAM (16MB Kingston SO-DIMM installed)
- 14.4 kbps modem built-in (supports 19.2 kbps v.terbo)
- 16-bit SBPro emulation
- used NiMH battery (holds about 2:15 of charge)
- port replicator, not broken like so many of these are
- external floppy drive
- printer dongle - plugs into floppy port to give you a printer port
- warrantied until some time November (22nd I think), 1998
- all original boxes, manuals, sales receipt, AC adapter

Broken/missing (I mention these because I want you to know *exactly*
what you're getting. So far as I know, these are the only problems with
the machine):

- Rubber feet on the bottom have come off. I still have them if you
want to try to glue them back on, although you may be better off
buying some generic rubber feet with adhesive already attached.
EZ-Serv wanted $320 to fix this go figure.
- Crack in plastic of upper right, near hinge. This is cosmetic only,
as the plastic here serves no function other than to cover the space
the keyboard folds up into. EZ-Serve refused to repair it under
warranty, even though they broke it. :-( I can epoxy it if you like.
- The installed PCMCIA cover has hole in it to allow you to attach
dongles and cables to your PCMCIA cards. It is cracked, but stays in
place just fine (you wouldn't know it's cracked unless you remove it -
EZ-Serv broke this too). The blank (covers the hole) is missing - I
put it somewhere for safekeeping, and now I can't remember where...
- Missing original system files which I've long since wiped. It was
  Windows 3.1 anyway.

Also included:

- Spare NiMH battery (Used about a dozen times, should hold about
3 hours of charge - Fn-F2 reports 3:24 remaining on a full charge, as
opposed to 3:28 when it was new. Speaking of which, the other battery
reports 2:44 but lasted a little more than 2:15 when I tested it
running without any powersaving features enabled.)

Optional:

- TP701 Portfolio - $25. It's a leather wrap-around case that makes the
701 look like an organizer. It leaves the sides exposed so you can
still plug in power, modem, the floppy, dongles, etc. without removing
  it from the Portfolio.

- 10bT Ethernet card, IBM credit card adapter - $25. Has given years
of flawless use first with my TP750, then with my TP701, under DOS,
Win3.1, OS/2, Win95, and Linux. The dongle has proven remarkably
robust, emerging undamaged from minor bumps and falls. Much better
than my modem dongle which broke the first time my laptop fell 6 inches
from my lap to the sofa...

Your choice of Linux or Win95 OSR2 pre-installed (because it's
a royal pain to install any modern OS without a network or
CD-ROM :-).

I have a minimum price in mind, so if I don't get offered
enough, I will just go ahead and put it on ebay.
