If you go under Control Panel>system, double click on the sound card. In the
properties, make sure that the sound card is enabled(the box 'disable in
this profile', will be checked if it's disabled). It's obviously just
Win95/98 and not the system.(it wouldn't be bleeping and blirping at you if
the sound card was bad)
