I'd like to use an external mouse (Kensington Expert Mouse) on a
Thinkpad 770ED running various Evil Empire operating systems (95,
NT). When I tried this under 95 OSR2, just plugging the mouse into
the external PS/2 port didn't work, with either the Trackpoint or
Kensington drivers. The external mouse was ignored. There's an
auto-disable mode for the Trackpoint that I was hoping would allow me
to switch automatically, but it caused sporadic behavior with both
drivers. More often that not, neither mouse worked after a resume.
About the only thing I've found that does seem to work is to totally
disable the Trackpoint when I want to use the external mouse, to
reboot, and to use the Kensington drivers.

This is all pretty painful when I'm moving around a lot and can only
sometimes use the external mouse. Has someone gotten this to work in
a less awkward fashion? What's a little amazing to me is that this
did all work on my 765, with no intervention at all required. So much
for progress...
