Yup, mine has the C&T 65530 as well. Install OSR2 and you'll get the
256-colour driver.

Oops, what I meant to say was that I tried my friend's Ethernet card (a
D-Link) on my Thinkpad and I ran into the same problems. This is somewhat
frustrating. If I could just get the Ethernet to work then I'd be able to
get rid of my second desktop system.

Thanks, I tried that but it seems like mine doesn't have a flash bios.
During the upgrade procedure it kept asking me to press the "write
protect" button at the back but mine doesn't have such a thing. I ended up
downloading IBM's version of HIMEM.SYS and that fixed the problem.
