It wouldn't be the first time that newer drivers dont work well. (e.g. My
newer Adaptec slimscsi drivers keep me from seeing multiple devices, so im
just using the older driver for now). Other than the IBM recomendation to
upgrade to the latest driver (in general, what vendor wouldnt recommend
that? ;-), is there any feature the newer drivers are supposed to give you
that you need? Sounds like you've done a fairly exaustive test. I recommend
giving IBM support a call to find out what you should do.
In general, if it hurts too much when you do something, then dont do it
;-). The term "bleeding edge" may apply here.
