Hello All,
I'm new to the list and am probably asking something that has been
discussed before. (I haven't gone thru the archive)
I have a TP755cx w/75mhz pentium.
I'm attempting to connect IBM's old PCMCIA 2x CD-Rom drive.
I thinkit's a fru:1963007 model (it's at home...)
The unit I bought had a non orig disk of drivers which were
supposed to be compatible w/dos & win3.x
I logged on @ ibm's site and registered my machine and got to the
thinkpad support area, finding all sorts of goodies. I found a
page that describes how to dump the 32 bit win 95 PCMCIA drivers.
NOW, MY question...
Should I boot the machine to dos (7.0) and try to load the orig
16bit drivers? Should I load the OTI drivers that IBM has on their
site, again in dos mode? I've tried this a couple of different
ways and the machine seems to boot the PCMCIA drivers but I get 8
(eight) drive letters and cannot access the drive error
messages...
Anyone here sucessfully loaded this type of 2x CD-Rom to an older
TP w/16 bit PCMCIA-2 ports?
Thanks,
Paul Schnettler
