So, in actuality, what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a PC Card
modem
with a DSP equipped 770 series machine? I used a 760C before, so I know the
problems
I had back then (stepping down connect speeds and/or disabling sound,
etc...).
I have an extra Megahertz (USR/3Com) 56k PC Card Xjack modem (X2/V.90). If
there
is an inherently visible advantage of using this PC Card modem over the
internal DSP
powered unit, I will use it, but it is much more convenient to use the
included
modem with the 770's I use and deploy to fellow consultants. So far, it
seems to work
as promised, and connects have been acceptable.
