As I mentioned in a previous post, and as you have found out, the 770 has a
much improved DSP system for the modem. I have seen no reason at all to
disable the internal modem and use a PC Card modem. Actually, the modem in
my 770 performs better than some desktop modems that I have used. Hopefully,
there will soon be a v.90 upgrade for the modem, as one day I just might
have the capability in my area to use it!
