the 770 split the modem DSP off from the sound..
so the 'new' mwave, aside from being a faster cpu also only needs to
deal with modem issues and not modem and sound..
it is a vast improvement over the older mwave..
the advantage of a pcmcia solution is obvious, i think..
the life of the TP-770 might be a lot longer than the life of the
currently 'hot' modem technology..
while the mwave is programmable (update able, call it whatever you like)
who knows what will be available next year..
