I've flashed a few IBM SCSI drives to correct some potential problems, so
it is probable it can be done with IDE drives too. But the flash process is
not necessarily a total rewrite. Depending on how the flash memory is
utilized, the flashing program may only rewrite certain blocks of the flash
memory... like just the firmware, and not config/error/data blocks in
flash. In any event, unless you know all the intracacies of their
proprietary flash interface. It's sorta like you trying to do brain surgery
remotely in the dark without experience. Without any detailed clues, it
can't be done sucessfully.
